Frequently Asked Questions

Plain answers to the questions clients ask.

What an agentic boutique is. How the Lab differs from the whole firm. How senior judgment stays in the loop. Where to start.

Question 02

What is an agentic boutique?

An agentic boutique is a small, senior-led professional services firm that uses AI agents to do the analytical work that scale firms historically used large associate benches for. The senior partner does what only a senior partner can do — judgment, presence, relationships, accountability. The agents do the structured work — analysis, research, drafting, monitoring, synthesis — at a pace and depth no individual human consultant can match.

The result: boutique pricing and senior-led attention, scale-firm analytical capacity. Senior judgment is in the loop, always. Every deliverable passes through senior practice before it leaves the firm.

The firm's full thesis is documented in The Great Equalizer: How Agentic AI Is Reshaping the Economics of Boutique Advisory.

Question 03

What does N M E D stand for?

N M E D stands for National Modernization & Executive Development.

It is the firm's eponymous practice and certification division. The four letters name four pillars:

National — cross-sector, multi-state reach. The firm is not a regional shop.
Modernization — the firm's core conviction that legacy operating models must be rebuilt deliberately, not preserved out of habit.
Executive — the seniority of the audience served and the work delivered. Every engagement is led by senior practice.
Development — the cultivation of leaders, institutions, and systems toward sustained capability.

The full legal name of the firm is Cross Suite Advisory — N M E D, LLC. The N M E D Division administers the firm's certification program for modernization-advisory and executive-development practitioners.

See the N M E D Hub for the credential tracks and the About N M E D page for the division's mission and governance.

Question 04

Who does Cross Suite Advisory serve?

The firm is selective by sector and serves two books. Public-sector and mission-driven institutions — university leadership (presidents, provosts, deans, chancellors, trustees), HBCUs, MSIs, federal/state/local government, tribes, K-12, academic medical, FFRDCs, foundations, public utilities, CDFIs, public pensions, and donor-advised funds. And owner-side private hospitality — where the firm advises the owner of the property, not the brand or franchisor.

The firm does not take vendor partnerships, does not work on the brand or franchisor side, and declines engagements where the AI work is not owner-controlled. Engagement is by invitation and introduction.

Question 05

How is senior judgment "in the loop"?

Every deliverable that leaves the firm passes through senior practice before it reaches the client. Agents do not produce client-facing work autonomously. They produce drafts, intelligence, analyses, and monitoring; senior judgment reviews, refines, and approves.

This is the discipline that distinguishes responsible agentic deployment from speed without judgment. The firm does not advise clients on a standard the firm does not hold itself to.

Question 06

How do engagements work?

Engagements take three forms:

Fixed-scope sprints. A defined deliverable on a defined timeline — an AI Readiness Assessment, a Brand Positioning Diagnostic, a 90-day return-to-work integration plan, a crisis playbook. Typical duration: 4–12 weeks.

Multi-tool packages. Two or more agents working together under one senior partner — for example, Talent 06 (First 90 Days Integration) combined with Lab 02 (Strategic Communications Architecture) for a newly-appointed CEO's first quarter. Typical duration: a quarter to a year.

Continuous retainer. The firm becomes the institution's standing advisor — the Lab monitors continuously, the Talent practice maintains the bench, Cross Suite 00 orchestrates the cross-suite work, and senior practice presents one weekly synthesis. Typical duration: multi-year.

Every engagement is led by a senior partner who is personally accountable from discovery through delivery.

Question 07

Is the work confidential?

Yes. Every engagement is confidential by default. The firm does not publish client names, case studies, or testimonials. Engagement materials, deliverables, and the institutional context behind the work are held in confidence under a written agreement.

The firm's reputation is built on the discretion of senior practice. The institutions the firm serves rely on that discretion.

Question 08

Can we stop or limit the agents' access to our systems?

Yes — and there is rarely anything to "stop," because the agents do not live inside your environment. They hold no standing or ongoing access to your systems. They run only when the firm runs them, and they work only with the specific information you choose to share for a given deliverable.

There is nothing running in your system to stop. You hold the off switch at every step, start to finish.

If you grant a temporary login or key for an engagement, you can revoke it instantly on your side. At the close of every engagement, the firm returns or permanently destroys your data and confirms it in writing. Information processed through the firm's AI agents is not used to train AI models — a data-governance posture written into the engagement agreement and designed for the regulated institutions the firm serves.

Question 09

Does the firm meet accessibility standards?

Yes. This website is conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The firm holds accessibility as a discipline of dignity, not a checklist of legal-minimums.

Full details — conformance status, accessibility features, feedback channel, and VPAT-on-request for institutional procurement — are documented on the Accessibility Statement page.

The firm also offers a six-agent ADA Accessibility & Universal Design practice for institutions building accessibility as an operating discipline. See the ADA Accessibility boutique for the practice details.
