Accessibility

Accessibility Statement.

Our commitment to making this site usable by everyone — the standard we hold ourselves to, where we are today, and how to reach us if something doesn't work for you.

Cross Suite Advisory – NMED is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to this website.

Conformance Status

Conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Following our May 12, 2026 remediation pass, the public pages of this site implement the WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria applicable to a content-driven advisory site. We continue to monitor and improve accessibility, and will update this statement when material changes are made.

Our commitment

We believe that the principals we serve — university presidents, provosts, trustees, C-suite officers, and the boards they answer to — deserve a website that meets a senior standard not only in voice and intelligence, but in usability for every reader who arrives at it. That includes readers using assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnifiers, voice control, and reduced-motion settings.

Accessibility is a discipline of continuous improvement, not a one-time milestone. We treat it the same way we treat the rest of the firm's work: rigorously, honestly, and with the willingness to name what is not yet finished.

Requesting an accommodation

Cross Suite Advisory is committed to accessibility. If you need an accommodation to access our website, our published materials, our books, or any of our sessions and events, contact our office at vernettakinchen@crosssuiteadvisory.com and we will work with you to provide it. We aim to respond within five business days.

Standards we apply

This website is designed and tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative. WCAG 2.2 Level AA incorporates and extends WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the version adopted by the U.S. Department of Justice for state and local government websites and the version most commonly cited in higher-education and federal-procurement accessibility requirements (including Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, as amended). Targeting 2.2 means we meet that legal baseline and the most current published standard above it.

Accessibility features of this site

The following accessibility provisions are implemented across the site's primary pages:

  • Semantic structure. Pages use proper HTML landmarks (<nav>, <main>, <header>, <footer>) and a logical heading hierarchy so that screen readers can navigate efficiently.
  • Language declared. Every page declares its primary language (lang="en") so assistive technology can pronounce content correctly.
  • Skip-to-content link. A "Skip to main content" link appears at the top of each page for keyboard users, allowing the navigation menu to be bypassed.
  • Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone. A visible focus outline indicates the currently focused element.
  • Descriptive alternative text. Meaningful images carry descriptive alt attributes; decorative imagery is marked as such.
  • Labeled form fields. Every form input on our contact form is associated with a visible <label>, required fields are programmatically identified, and autocomplete hints are provided where appropriate.
  • Reduced-motion support. Animations and smooth-scrolling effects respect the visitor's prefers-reduced-motion system preference and are disabled when that preference is set.
  • Color contrast. Body text, navigation, and primary headings meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). Brand-accent gold is used in its conformant variants for text on light backgrounds.
  • Responsive layout. Pages reflow at small viewport widths and at increased browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or function.
  • Stable, descriptive link text. Links are written to be meaningful on their own, without relying on surrounding context.

Known limitations

We work to keep this list current. As of the review date below, no material accessibility limitations are outstanding on the public pages of this site. The HTML version of our published white paper at The Agentic Boutique remains the primary reading experience; an accessible PDF version is available for download alongside it.

Items resolved in our May 12, 2026 remediation pass:

  • Site-wide skip-to-content link and visible focus indicators (:focus-visible).
  • ARIA landmark labels on every primary navigation and footer; aria-current="page" on the active navigation link.
  • Decorative-element aria-hidden on the typographic brand-mark letters.
  • Reduced-motion support via prefers-reduced-motion.
  • Contrast-conformant button and link states across all pages.
  • In-page table of contents on long-form pages (Home, Agentic
    Boutique
, NMED, About NMED), auto-built from heading structure with aria-current="location" tracking.
  • Tagged, language-declared replacement for the published white paper PDF, with PDF/UA marker, descriptive title, and table-of-contents bookmarks.
  • Correction of misdescribed contact-form behavior — the Request-an-Introduction form opens the visitor's default email client with the inquiry pre-filled; no third-party form processor is used, and no inquiry data is stored by the website. Visitors without a default mail client configured can email vernettakinchen@crosssuiteadvisory.com directly.

Assessment approach

This statement is based on the following:

  • Self-evaluation. A formal internal review of every primary public page against WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria.
  • Automated testing. Use of automated accessibility tooling (color-contrast analyzers, HTML validators, and screen-reader simulation) during development.
  • Manual review. Keyboard-only walk-throughs, screen-reader smoke tests, and reduced-motion validation on supported platforms.

Recent accessibility findings · 2026-07-13

The firm performed a WCAG 2.2 AA audit on July 13, 2026, covering the updated homepage news ticker and the new author feature on the Insights page. The findings and remediation are summarized below; the full report is available on request.

Homepage ticker and Insights author feature · WCAG 2.2 AA audit

  • Verdict: Passes WCAG 2.2 Level AA after remediation.
  • Color contrast: The new author feature initially placed darker gold text on the navy panel at roughly 3.6:1, below the 4.5:1 AA threshold. Remediated to a brighter gold that clears AA at 5.5:1 and above.
  • Keyboard and voice navigation: Verified present and unchanged by the update. The site's voice navigation and keyboard focus behavior were not altered.
  • Images: The author photograph carries descriptive alternative text.
  • Heading structure and skip link: Single semantic H1 per page; the skip-to-content link is present.
  • News ticker motion: Includes a pause control, pauses on hover and keyboard focus, and stops automatically for visitors who prefer reduced motion.

Prior audit · 2026-05-19

The firm performed a WCAG 2.2 AA audit on our published field guide on May 19, 2026. Findings and remediation are summarized below.

Boutique Operator's Guide to Agentic AI · WCAG 2.2 AA audit

  • Verdict: Passes WCAG 2.2 Level AA across every applicable category.
  • Color contrast: Four colors checked; all clear the 4.5:1 AA threshold (navy 16.89:1 · ink 17.40:1 · muted 6.47:1 · gold 4.80:1). Navy and ink also clear AAA (7:1).
  • Heading structure: Semantic H1 followed by six H2 sections. No skipped levels.
  • List markup: Bullet lists use semantic numbering, not unicode characters.
  • Document language: Initially missing; remediated 2026-05-19. The document now declares en-US in both the styles and the core properties.
  • Font sizing: Body text raised to 12pt; footer and small-caps eyebrows raised to 10pt for ADA-review compliance.
  • No images, no tables, no hyperlinks in body — no alt-text, table-header, or link-text findings to report.
